There are blogs all over the internet about whatever topic the author desires to write about. However, every blog has its intended audience which can sway a reader to or away from their blog. There are other important elements like the layout. This includes color, image use and just overall use of sentences. Here is 2 blogs compared Bleacher Report and Far Out. Bleacher Report:
The sports informational blog Bleacher Report shows live updates of the biggest sports events happening at the current time of day. They also show upcoming events if they have not occurred yet. This blog is a great place for a sports lover to scroll through and look throughout the information the blog offers.
Layout:
The layout of the overall blog is very user friendly with plenty of images videos and headlines of any sports information the reader could desire. The sports range from tennis and the Paralympics to College Football and the NFL. There is a lot of information there is very good organization throughout. The images and videos correspond with a certain headline or highlight that is noted right under the images/videos or beside them. The black background makes the video and text pop and eye catching compared to a basic white background.
Far Out:
Far Out is an informational blog that displays information about pop culture information happening around the world. This includes art, music, and film. Along with information about these topics they also review new albums, films, and art pieces. With that being said, someone really invested in music, art, and film and people's opinions on these topics could lead people to this blog
Layout:
The layout of this blog is organized throughout. However, it is a very busy blog and is cluttered. There is to many pictures and captions in a very confined space and makes it seem messy and confusing when the reader looks throughout the blog. Most of the articles within this blog are opinionated with statements from celebrities and their stance on a topic they were questioned about. The background is just white which makes the blog feel boring with just the basic white background and black text. If there was more color it could help the appearance possibly.
Due to these reasons and bias between topics of the blogs and overall impressions leads to the opinion that Bleacher Report is the better blog compared to Far Out. That does not make Far Out a terrible blog just less desired compared to Bleacher Report or any other sports blog.
